Temperature Calibration Services

Michelli provides standard traceable and ISO/IEC 17025 accredited temperature calibration services for thermometers, thermocouples, RTD probes, infrared thermometers, ovens, incubators, dry blocks, freezers, and other temperature measurement equipment.

Temperature Calibration Built for Accurate Readings and Traceable Results

Accurate temperature measurement is critical for ensuring product quality, process control, proper storage conditions, equipment performance, and safety. When thermometers, probes, controllers, or temperature chambers drift out of tolerance, teams may be making decisions from readings they cannot fully trust.

Michelli calibrates a wide range of temperature measurement instruments across many makes and models, including equipment purchased from other suppliers. Service options may include standard traceable calibration, ISO/IEC 17025 accredited calibration, field calibration, in-lab calibration, and documentation based on the instrument, application, and required scope.

Temperature Instruments

Calibration for thermometers, probes, controllers, sensors, transmitters, indicators, and related instruments.

Process and Lab Equipment

Support for ovens, incubators, freezers, dry blocks, baths, chambers, and temperature systems.

Traceable Documentation

Calibration documentation and asset management to support quality systems, audits, and regulated measurement programs.

What Is Temperature Measurement?

Temperature measurement, or thermometry, assigns a value to how hot or cold something is so that the condition can be monitored, controlled, documented, and understood. These measurements are used in laboratories, production areas, storage environments, maintenance programs, and regulated processes.

Temperature instruments may include thermometers, thermocouples, RTD probes, infrared sensors, bimetallic devices, controllers, data loggers, and temperature monitoring systems. Calibration helps confirm that these instruments are producing readings that are appropriate for their intended use.

Quality and Process Control

Temperature readings are used to monitor production, storage, processing, and quality conditions.

Laboratory and Regulated Work

Instruments used in labs, incubators, freezers, ovens, and environments require documented control.

Maintenance and Verification

Temperature tools are used to verify equipment condition, thermal performance, and operating ranges.

What Does Temperature Calibration Entail?

Electronic calibration compares a test instrument against an appropriate measurement standard. If adjustment is needed and available for the instrument, the device may be adjusted so its readings align with the measurement standard within the required tolerance.

The process varies by instrument type. Technicians may use a dry bath, liquid bath, ice bath, oven, chamber, or other temperature calibration standard to generate known temperatures and verify performance across the required range.

Compare

Instrument readings are compared against an appropriate temperature standard.

Verify

Testing may be repeated at multiple temperature points based on the procedure.

f

Adjust

Adjustments may be made when the instrument allows and the scope requires it.

Document

Results can be documented for quality, audit, or traceability needs.

Temperature Calibration Service Options

Michelli can help determine the appropriate calibration path based on your instrument, application, temperature range, tolerance requirements, quality system, and documentation needs.

Standard Traceable Temperature Calibration

Standard traceable calibration is available for many temperature instruments and may be appropriate when documented calibration traceable to recognized measurement standards is needed.

Available for many common temperature instruments

Useful for routine quality and maintenance programs

Documentation available based on service scope

ISO/IEC 17025 Accredited Temperature Calibration

ISO/IEC 17025 accredited temperature calibration is available for applicable instruments and scopes when accredited documentation is required.

Available for applicable instruments within accredited scope

Supports regulated, audit-driven, or critical temperature programs

Scope of accreditation should be reviewed for specific devices

Field Temperature Calibration

On-site temperature calibration is available in some areas for certain devices. Field service can support equipment that is difficult to move or tied to facility workflows.

Available for some instruments depending on scope and location

Helpful for facility, maintenance, and production environments

Contact your nearest Michelli location to confirm device availability

In-Lab Temperature Calibration

In-lab calibration may be recommended or required for certain instruments, ranges, procedures, or accredited calibration needs that benefit from a controlled calibration environment.

Available for portable instruments and devices that can be shipped or dropped off

Supports applicable accredited calibration needs

Equipment lists can help streamline service planning
