Environmental Calibration Services

Michelli provides standard traceable and ISO/IEC 17025 accredited environmental calibration services for instruments that measure temperature, humidity, air velocity, environmental conditions, and related process variables.

Environmental Calibration Built for Reliable Conditions and Traceable Results

Environmental measurement instruments help teams monitor the conditions that affect safety, quality, production, storage, testing, and compliance. When those instruments drift out of tolerance, temperature, humidity, air velocity, and other environmental readings may no longer support confident decisions.

Air Velocity and Flow

Calibration for hot-wire anemometers, vane anemometers, and related air velocity measurement devices.

Temperature and Humidity

Support for thermometers, hygrometers, psychrometers, temperature indicators, and humidity instruments.

Traceable Documentation

Calibration documentation supports quality systems, audits, regulated work, and environmental monitoring programs.

What Is Environmental Measurement?

Environmental measurement is the practice of measuring conditions such as temperature, humidity, air velocity, pressure, and other environmental factors that can affect people, products, processes, and equipment.

These readings may be used in food manufacturing, storage environments, laboratories, production areas, safety programs, environmental monitoring, and facility operations. Calibration helps confirm that the instruments used to make those measurements are producing readings that can be trusted for their intended use.

Product Quality and Storage

Environmental instruments help monitor storage areas, controlled environments, and process conditions that affect product quality.

Safety and Facility Decisions

Air velocity, temperature, humidity, and related measurements can support operational and safety decisions.

Quality and Compliance Records

Calibration documentation can support environmental monitoring records, audits, and quality system requirements.

What Does Environmental Calibration Entail?

Environmental calibration compares a measurement device against a known standard, controlled condition, or recognized physical reference. When adjustment is needed and available, the instrument is adjusted until its readings align with the required tolerance.

The process varies by instrument. A vane anemometer may be tested at multiple air speeds in a wind tunnel, while temperature or humidity instruments may be compared against controlled standards, chambers, or reference instruments.

f

Compare

Instrument readings are compared against known standards or controlled conditions.

Adjust

Adjustments may be made when the instrument allows and the service scope requires it.

Document

Calibration results are documented for quality, audit, or traceability needs.

Recommend

Technicians can help identify repair, replacement, or recalibration needs.

Environmental Calibration Service Options

Michelli can help determine the appropriate calibration path based on your instrument, application, tolerance requirements, quality system, and documentation needs.

Standard Traceable Environmental Calibration

Standard traceable calibration is available for many environmental instruments and may be appropriate when documented calibration traceable to recognized measurement standards is needed.

Available for many common environmental measurement devices

Useful for routine quality, safety, and facility programs

Documentation available based on service scope

ISO/IEC 17025 Accredited Environmental Calibration

ISO/IEC 17025 accredited environmental calibration is available for applicable instruments and scopes when a higher level of documented measurement confidence is required.

Available for applicable instruments within accredited scope

Supports regulated, audit-driven, or critical measurement programs

Scope of accreditation should be reviewed for specific devices

Field Environmental Calibration

On-site environmental calibration is available for some precision measurement devices. Field service can support instruments used in facility, production, storage, or monitoring environments.

Available for some devices depending on scope and location

Helpful for plant, laboratory, storage, and process environments

Contact your nearest Michelli location to confirm device availability

In-Lab Environmental Calibration

In-lab calibration may be recommended or required for certain instruments, ranges, environmental conditions, or procedures that benefit from a controlled calibration environment.

Available for portable instruments and devices that can be shipped or dropped off

Supports applicable accredited calibration needs

Equipment lists can help streamline service planning
