Force Calibration Services
Michelli provides standard traceable and ISO/IEC 17025 accredited force calibration services for dynamometers, force gauges, load cells, force transducers, tension meters, and other force measurement equipment.
Force Calibration Built for Tension, Compression, and Traceable Results
Force measurement equipment helps teams quantify the push, pull, compression, tension, or load applied to an object. When that equipment drifts out of tolerance, the impact can affect safety checks, proof testing, product validation, lifting applications, quality records, and production decisions.
Michelli calibrates a wide range of force measurement devices across many makes and models, including equipment purchased from other suppliers. Service options may include standard traceable calibration, ISO/IEC 17025 accredited calibration, field calibration, in-lab calibration, and documentation based on the device, application, and required scope.
Tension and Compression
Calibration support for force devices used to measure pull, push, compression, tension, and applied load.
Heavy Duty Capability
Force test stands capable of producing up to 700,000 lbs of compression and tension.
Traceable Documentation
Calibration documentation and asset management to support quality systems, audits, and regulated measurement programs.
What Is Force Measurement?
Force measurement quantifies the amount of force being applied to an object. That force may be a push, pull, compression load, tension load, lifting force, or applied load used to test product strength, equipment capacity, or process performance.
Force measurement devices may be used to measure the pull of gravity on an object, the maximum capacity a material can withstand, the amount of force required to remove a lid, or the tension applied during a lifting, testing, or production process.
Safety and Proof Testing
Force measurement supports applications where load capacity, lifting force, or safe operating limits must be verified.
Quality and Product Validation
Force gauges, testers, and load cells help teams evaluate product strength, performance, and repeatability.
Industrial and Heavy Capacity Applications
Dynamometers, crane scales, load cells, and force transducers support lifting, weighing, and industrial process needs.

What Does Force Calibration Entail?
Force calibration compares the readings produced by a force measurement device against an appropriate certified force measurement standard. Through controlled compression or tension, the device is tested to confirm that its readings align with the required tolerance.
The calibration process varies by device type, capacity, direction of force, and required documentation. A dynamometer, load cell, force gauge, tension meter, or force transducer may each require different fixtures, ranges, standards, and procedures.
Apply
Controlled tension or compression is applied based on the device and procedure.
Compare
Device readings are compared against certified force measurement standards.
Adjust
Adjustments may be made when the device allows and service scope requires it.
Document
Calibration results are documented for quality, audit, or traceability needs.
Force Calibration Service Options
Michelli can help determine the appropriate calibration path based on your device, force range, tension or compression requirements, quality system, and documentation needs.
Standard Traceable Force Calibration
Standard traceable calibration is available for many force measurement devices and may be appropriate when documented calibration traceable to recognized measurement standards is required.
Available for many common force measurement devices
Useful for routine quality, maintenance, and production programs
Documentation available based on service scope
ISO/IEC 17025 Accredited Force Calibration
ISO/IEC 17025 accredited force calibration is available for applicable devices and scopes when a higher level of documented measurement confidence is required.
Available for applicable devices within accredited scope
Supports audit-driven, regulated, or critical force measurement programs
Scope of accreditation should be reviewed for specific devices and ranges
Field Force Calibration
On-site force calibration is available for many force measurement devices. Field service can help support equipment that is difficult to move or part of larger facility workflows.
Available for many devices depending on scope and location
Helpful for industrial, maintenance, lifting, and production environments

In-Lab Force Calibration
In-lab force calibration may be recommended or required for devices, ranges, fixtures, or procedures that benefit from controlled standards and dedicated force calibration equipment.
Available for devices that can be shipped or delivered for calibration
Supports applicable accredited calibration needs
Equipment lists can help streamline service planning
